Tree Dressing in Tytherington Woods
Sunday 5th December 2010

Our third annual Tree Dressing event at Tytherington Woods was a great success attracting nearly 40 participants despite recent heavy snow and temperatures
that were hovering around freezing point!

Tree Dressing

The group fashioned incredible sculptures from clay and natural materials
which will have no impact on the environment.

Some looked to the features of the trees themselves, like odd shaped branches or bracket fungi as inspiration.

The cold weather certainly hadn't inhibited anyone's imagination - subjects included red squirrels,
birds, a chameleon, a wonderful owl sitting on the ground and even an alien policemen.

Some of the group also created wonderful underwater scenes and sea creatures
to celebrate our fundraising campaign     I'm on the Sea's Side.

The event was rounded off with
welcome hot drinks, mince pies,
yule log and chocolate coins!

Happy Christmas everyone!
