Countryside Taster Day
Wednesday 15th June 2011

Volunteer Macclesfield Wildlife Explorer Leaders ran two activities at the
Countryside Taster Day specifically aimed at people with disabilities.

Countryside Taster Day

Organised by Cheshire East Rangers, the Countryside Taster Day in the Bollin Valley in Macclesfield
enabled people with disabilities to participate in a whole range of activities.

Over 500 people were invited to Riverside Park in Macclesfield,
and a number of local groups and individual volunteers organised activities for the day.

WEx Leaders Susan and Frankie helped people of all ages make clay animals to take home.
Favourites were the hedgehogs (clay and pine cone), snakes and butterflies.

WEx Leaders Tina and Howard helped people with pond dipping.
Star finds were tadpoles, sticklebacks, cadis fly larvae, and a whirligig beetle.
